A simpler way to plan your week

Plan around your household, review your recipes and take a clear shopping list with you. Keep meals and shopping requirements together in one place.

1. Set your household preferences

Create an account or sign in, then choose household size, dietary preferences, exclusions, preparation-time preferences and budget. Your budget applies to estimated ingredient usage rather than guaranteed checkout spending.

2. Review your personalised week

Create a seven-day plan and review each recipe’s portions, ingredients and method. Some dinners may repeat. Recipes can contain mistakes: check ingredients and product labels for allergies, and follow safe food handling and cooking practices.

Numeric AI-estimated nutrition is currently hidden, including estimates that pass limited ingredient checks. Those checks do not establish nutritional accuracy. Reliable nutrition may be unavailable; no replacement figures are calculated for those estimates. KaiPrep is not medical or dietary advice.

3. Review what you need to buy

KaiPrep combines compatible ingredient requirements into one shopping list. It separates the amount the recipes use from the suggested amount to buy. Purchase suggestions use supported references or labelled planning assumptions; actual packs, prices and availability still need checking.

For standard sliced bread, the planning assumption is 17 usable slices per loaf. Eligible pantry deductions happen before rounding up to whole loaves: 24 remaining slices suggest buying two loaves. Generic bread recorded as “each” uses the same shopping assumption, explained in Details. Actual loaves may vary; this is not a verified count for a selected product. Distinct products such as rolls, buns and wraps are not converted with this rule.

Eligible Plus pantry deductions reduce requirements for ingredients you already have. Free users receive shopping quantities without access to Plus pantry inventory or deductions.

A small example, from plan to list

Illustrative walkthrough using the public sample. This is not a live personalised plan, an app screenshot or a current supermarket quotation.

  1. Choose the household

The sample week serves two adults across seven dinners. In your own plan, choose the household portions, preferences and available equipment.

  2. Read the recipe quantities

Day 1 and Day 3 each use 300 g raw chicken breast. Together they need 600 g raw chicken, before checking what is already at home.

  3. Review the shopping figures

Two 160 g dry pasta requirements become 320 g. Compare the ingredient-use estimate with the purchase estimate or known-price purchase subtotal, then check which items still need a price. The recipe quantity is not a pack size.

4. Check prices and saving

Ingredient-use estimates and estimated purchase costs answer different questions. Unknown prices are not free items, and an incomplete known-price purchase subtotal is not the full checkout bill.

Wait for save confirmation when changing your plan or shopping checkboxes. For pending saves or generation problems, follow the saving and generation guidance. A confirmed failure to create a plan preserves your previously saved plan.
